Oil Rock

Oil Rock
Oil Rock is a strategic and interactive game, set in the heart of the Industrial Revolution, in which players lead rival oil companies competing for control of the ‘black gold’ market.
The game’s core mechanic is an original system of placing workers on a large, central rotating gear. This wheel moves at the end of each round, altering and reshuffling the layout of the ‘action’ spaces available for subsequent turns.
Players must manage the entire production chain on their personal board. This involves digging wells and placing drilling rigs to increase the extraction of crude oil (divided into three different grades), and then processing it in refineries and turbines to unlock resources, abilities and bonuses.
Alongside managing their board, players must move their trains across the hexagonal map to secure railway bonuses and send engineers to build trading posts, thereby expanding their territorial influence across the various regions.
Each player takes on the role of a character, represented by a flip-through spiral-bound notebook. As you advance along the progress track, you literally turn the page, unlocking more efficient workers, better income streams and powerful asymmetric special abilities, which evolve over the course of the game’s four rounds.
A strategically deep and interactive game that combines long-term planning of your industrial chain with the tactical flexibility required by a constantly changing game board and action wheel.
