\nFestival Internazionale dei giochi in strada<\/h2>\n

The Event Tocat\u00ec, (Festival Internazionale dei giochi in strada) took place from September 18 to 21 in the city of Verona. Dario De Toffoli conducted a conference about gambling. Here the speakers: Raffaella Basana (for the City of Udine); Vincenzo Manco (UISP president); Furio Honsell (Mayor of the City of and president of GioNa); Filippo Fossati (politician and former UISP president); Fabrizio De Meo (responsable for UISP education); Mauro Vanetti of the “Collettivo Senza Slot” (Anti-hazard representatives); Maurizio Fiasco (Professor specialized in Public Security and Gambling).<\/p>\n

“A very intense meeting!
\nMany different philosophic thoughts have emerged about the gambling problems, it has been useful to talk about it and to compare our opinions.
\nOn one side there are persons who start from the law point of view, trying to find new rules about the issue. The law contains some positive elements: for example the use of the health card in order to verify someone’s age, the prohibition of comemrcials, the introduction of alerts during a game and prevention in schools.
\nOn the other side, who considers this regulations too soft and not enough good to fight the criminal system: and so there is an increasing “popular resistance”; will it be able to push the policy? Considering so not only profit, but also the enormous social costs?
\nThank goodness, at least we can all agree that the positive values \u200b\u200bof the game can help rebuild the sociality that is configured as a real antidote to the alienation of the slot machines.
\nPerfect the setting of the Tocat\u00ec of Verona, a great and beautiful Festival, dedicated to the culture and sociability of the Game. We will continue the discussion during other events, for sure at the emerging Carrara Show, scheduled from May 30 to June 2, 2015.

\nplacement of gambling<\/span> in the<\/span> framework<\/span> of Games.<\/span>
\nQuantification<\/span> of what<\/span> comes out<\/span> of the pockets of<\/span> Italians<\/span>, comparing it to other countries<\/span>.
\nSummary of<\/span> legislative changes<\/span> that allowed<\/span> (or rather,<\/span> made possible) the current<\/span> anomaly<\/span> on the<\/span> Italian<\/span> gambling<\/span> machines<\/span> outside casinos<\/span>.
\nLinks between<\/span> certain types of<\/span> gambling<\/span> and mafia<\/span>, even viewed from the standpoint<\/span> of the perverse<\/span> mechanism<\/span> of<\/span> dealerships.<\/span>
\nWhat can<\/span> realistically make<\/span> local authorities<\/span> to solve the problem<\/span>.
\nWhat can<\/span> get<\/span> a kind of public “<\/span>resistance”.<\/span>
\nWhat<\/span> preventive actions<\/span> –<\/span> and not just<\/span> healing<\/span> –<\/span> can be taken<\/span>, including the proper<\/span> divulgation of<\/span> mathematical informations<\/span> about the games<\/span> themselves,<\/span> to make everyone<\/span> more aware.<\/span>
\nAnalysis (and<\/span> judgment!<\/span>) of the national law<\/span> in<\/span> preparation<\/span> and consideration<\/span> of<\/span> what further<\/span> actions can be taken<\/span>.
\nClarification<\/span> of the importance<\/span> of talking about<\/span> “azzardopatia”<\/span> (hazard addiction) rather than<\/span> “ludopatia” (gaming addiction)<\/span>… but this<\/span> seems<\/span> well established<\/span>!
\nEvaluation<\/span> of<\/span> alternative therapeutic approaches<\/span>.
