14 June 2021: the magnificent 110… Magna cum laude! After several months of meticulous hard work, the preliminar Jury has selected the 110 games that will move on to the next step of the Archimede Prize 2021. Here they are, strictly in alphabetical order! Soon will be available the (virtual!) exhibition with all the selected games.
1 April 2021: no, it's not an April Fools' joke, the number of prototypes for the 2020/21 edition of the Premio Archimede are 236! This photo shows what the Premio is, better than any other description.
1 December 2020: given the numerous requests from authors who have had difficulties in play-testing due to Covid-19, we decided to REOPEN the deadline for SIGNING UP and for sending the prototypes from 1st December 2020 to 28th February 2021.
24 November 2020: Dario De Toffoli was invited by Play Res to be the speaker of the first of four online training meetings for board game facilitators. He will tell us about the mechanisms behind gambling.
November 2020: it might be the posticipation to 2021, it might even be the forced stay-at-home, but the fact is that the Premio Archimede 2020 has marked an incredible record of participation: we received 202 prototypes, I mean, 202!
11 November 2020: Teodomiro Dal Negro, known as Miro, sadly passed away. With him, we had in the 80s and 90s an intense, fruitful and fun collaboration.
In Lex Arcana we dedicated the character of Emperor Theodomirus to him, who opens the game with his speech to the Senate.

8 October 2020: Lex Arcana is a "Gioco di Ruolo dell'Anno 2020" prize (role-playing game prize) finalist. The jury has nominated five finalists between 22 games in competition. This year, a participation record!
6 October 2020: Herbert Feuerstein, a famous German TV personality, is died. We remember him as president of J.P. Halvah Foundation, created by Alex Randolph (with his cat's name!) to help the up-and-coming game authors. The Foundation was our partner for Premio Archimede, on this page you can see a video with a chat between Randolph and Feuerstein in 1994 in Venice.
24 August 2020: a month of online Mind Sports Olympiad. 90 tournaments. Thousands of participants from over the world. And a lot of Italians are getting into it. Come and discover how it is going!
10 April 2020: considering the coronavirus health emergency, we decided to reopen the terms of the competition. The deadline for REGISTERING and sending us the prototypes is extended to the 31st of October, 2020 and the final ceremony is postponed to a future date in 2021, which is yet to be defined.
5 March 2020: also this year the Musée Suisse du Jeu (Suiss Museum of games) organized an exhibition dedicated to the Premio Archimede’s games. The awarded prototypes are shown as well as some games of the previous editions which in the meantime have been published.
October 2019: we welcome three new publishers have become Premio Archimede partners, and their editors that will be part of the final jury: CMON (Singapore) with Andrea Chiarvesio, MANDOO (Corea del Sud) with Kevin Kichan Kim, RIO GRANDE (Usa) with Jay Tummelson.
October 2019: already 48 games presented at the Premio Archimede and published... and 10 more are under contract with international publishers: they are coming in stores in the next months. Let's find out which ones...

29 September 2018: JAP (Just Another Pirate game), by Gian Andrea Cappuzzo wins the competition. Second place goes to Feudalink by Marcello Bertocchi, by just one point.
1 September 2018: during the event IdeaG Nord-est, in Udine, Leo Colovini comunicated the "long-list" with the 81 games that will access the final of Premio Archimede 2018.
