May 2020: on issue 2 of Spielbox 2020, you can find a nice review of Castello Methoni by Leo Colovini written by Christwart Conrad, who was so attentive that he noticed also some of the influences that inspired the author.
10 April 2020: considering the coronavirus health emergency, we decided to reopen the terms of the competition. The deadline for REGISTERING and sending us the prototypes is extended to the 31st of October, 2020 and the final ceremony is postponed to a future date in 2021, which is yet to be defined.
April 2020: Issue 25 of the prestigious magazine Ludica. Annals of the history and culture of games edited by Fondazione Benetton Studi Riceche / Viella.
This issue also contains, among others, a review by Federico Colovini and Dario De Toffoli, of the volume Le Jeu de rôle sur table, un laboratoire de l'imaginaire, edited by Danièle André and Alban Quadrat.
February 2020: Marco Polo II Marco Polo II just earned the cover of the latest issue of Spielbox! And, in the review, all the 5 playtesters agreed on giving it the same vote, 8. Excellent!
March 2020: the game Overmatch, created by the Portuguese author Ricardo Jorge Gomes, was selected in the long-list of Premio Archimede 2016 and is now published by Pythagoras. Ricardo is a great "tabletop games" player and in 2018 won the Eurogames World Championship in London at the Mind Sports Olympiad. Well done, Ricardo!
5 March 2020: also this year the Musée Suisse du Jeu (Suiss Museum of games) organized an exhibition dedicated to the Premio Archimede’s games. The awarded prototypes are shown as well as some games of the previous editions which in the meantime have been published.
February 2020: at the casino tables the stakes increase from round to round, with intuition and bluffs... A new amazing edition of Vabanque is coming soon!
10 February 2020: Playing Season awards the best board games of the last year in Portugal. Sixteen categories with votes from the public and from expert jurors. Between the international titles there is Leo goes to the barber by Leo Colovini, winner in the "Kids" category and distributed in Portugal by Devir, that won also the prize "Game distributor of the year".
February 2020: the Benetton Foundation announces the Gaetano Cozzi 2020 Prize for unpublished essays on the history of game. The competition is dedicated to young scholars born after 1984. All the essays have to be submitted to the Foundation within March 15, 2020, and the winning works will be published in the specialized magazine Ludica. Annali di storia e civiltà del gioco.
February 2020: previewed in Nuremberg also the new game by Gabriele Bubola, coming from the last edition of Premio Archimede and published by Mandoo Games. Expected release in April.
February 2020: Haba released the new game of Cielo d'Oro, based on the ingenious internal design of the board. Players must help animals to recover their treasures, hidden on the treetops, developing eye memory and strategic movement.
February 2020: moses. Verlag released Die Verlassene Bibliothek, a new game by Leo Colovini. A pocket escape room, where players must solve many puzzles while into an abandoned library to unlock the exit door.
Nuremberg, January 2020: 6 games by studiogiochi have been presented at Spielwarenmesse 2020... and of course the usual exaggeration of meetings, presentations and, of course, celebrations.
28 January 2020: Kangourou Italia, together with studiogiochi, the City of Venice and local Hard Rock Cafe,
took mathematical games to Venice. Kangourou mathematic contest involved 12 teams of students from high schools of the Veneto Region.
